We live in a rapidly changing world.
The speed of those changes, powered by ever advancing technology, can often seem bewildering.
And what people want from their homes is also constantly evolving.
Back in the mid 1980s people’s property wish list’s looked very different to what they do now.
Back then plumb points for washing machines were seen as a bit of a luxury, gas central heating viewed as a bonus and double glazing was just starting to be a must have.
Stone cladding your property was fashionable back then but increasingly frowned upon by future buyers with some even dubbing it the ‘Basildon Rash’ due to the large numbers of properties in Essex which followed the trend.
Fast forward to 2017 and being near good schools is further up on the list due to the population boom.
Having access to fast broadband, a good mobile phone signal and ever increasingly a ‘spare’ room which can double up as a home office is also on many buyers’ wish list.
Some things don’t change though such as the desire for good parking, nice neighbours and easy access to transport links and shops.
And our approach at Orchards Estates to giving our clients the best possible ‘old fashioned’ values of honesty, great service and professionalism remains just as strong as ever.
Thanks for reading and if you have any property related questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us – we’d love to help you.
