Mathew Wood has worked in estate agency for 25 years in and around South Somerset. Rising through the ranks of the country’s largest corporate agents and honing his craft enabled Mathew to develop the vision for Orchards Estates. As Managing Director, Mathew naturally spends time working on the business and “steering the ship”; he has an uncanny ability to pick up on the nuanced changes of Zeitgeist in the market. Mat’s skill at delivering tailored, on-the-spot training enables each member of the team to develop themselves and also his ability to digest extremely lengthy legal documents, distilling them down to crucial points benefits the team and clients alike. When Mat does get a day off, he likes to drive his VW Camper to a kite-surfing or surfing spot and play in the waves. He lives in Stoke sub Hamdon with his fiancée and an extremely angry rescue cat.

Thomas McDermott has worked in estate agency for 15 years both at home and abroad. Knowing the European market made him the perfect director alongside Mathew to develop the Orchards Estates brand. Tom’s work ethic has driven the business forward in ways that couldn’t have been done without his unwavering dedication. Tom’s natural charm is a lesson all on its own and another source of inspiration to deliver information with an easy-going kindness. This has taught the team to provide service with a genuine smile and an empathy we often hear is lacking from other agents. Tom is a keen traveller and any time off is most often spent visiting friends and family all round the world. He lives in Norton sub Hamdon with his wife and beautiful rescue dog, Lola.

Elle Gilpin works in Sales and works hard to get sellers’ homes sold quickly and for the best price. A previous history in health related roles, she has an easy-going manner with all and loves the match-making element of house to buyer. Keeping in regular touch with potential buyers means that often the buyers get to hear about new properties before they ever go online and many are sold prior to launch. She lives in Stoke sub Hamdon with her fiancé and, having not long moved into a new home, is looking forward to developing a hobby in gardening. 

Ayesha Hutton

Property Manager

Ayesha Hutton is the Property Manager at Orchards Estates, working with tenants, landlords and contractors to ensure an efficient lettings service is provided. Landlords’ properties are inspected regularly and thoroughly and any issues dealt with swiftly and at good value, thanks to her strong relationships with local contractors. Ayesha’s regular contact with tenants means that many properties have suitable tenants found before they ever make it online, reducing possible costs for the owners. Ayesha lives in Yeovil with her son and rescue bunny rabbit who has a penchant for wallpaper stripping.

Sales Negotiator

Charlotte has worked in sales her entire career, but always had a longing to be part of an estate agency due to her passion for property. Charlotte keeps in touch with all of our early birds to make sure that nobody misses out on new properties joining our listings, and maintains positive relationships with current and previous clients. She thoroughly enjoys taking clients to view potential new homes and loves their reaction when they find 'the one'.
Shopping, going to the gym and sunning herself on warm shores are some of her favorite past times, and when she isn't doing this, she can be found in her local pub catching up with friends. 

Jo Edon

Administrator

Jo Edon is Orchards Estates’ Administrator and helps keep the paperwork and Sales Team in-line! Jo is efficient and great at helping sellers through the process of selling, from creating their listings to confirming completion. Her Italian heritage means she is an excellent cook and throws a fabulous party. She lives in Yeovil with her husband and two boys and a cuddly ginger tom cat. 

Adam Tanner

Lettings Manager

Adam is responsible for the marketing of our letting properties as well as promoting our high quality property management services to new landlords.

Adam has spent the majority of his career in estate agency, having been trained by one of the large corporates some 15 years ago and subsequently spending time in the independent sector. He understands the needs of both tenants and landlords alike and has a calm and friendly approach to ensure a satisfactory letting experience for all parties involved.

Most of our properties are let very quickly and Adam's attention to detail ensures that the best match of property, landlord and tenant is achieved.

Adam lives in West Lydford and in his spare time, when not attending to the needs of his two young sons, he enjoys a keen interest in all sports and has as many games of golf and cricket that time will allow.

Daniel Kemp

Daniel has been in the property world for around ten years so brings with him an experienced eye and well-honed skills. His role as Property Manager requires him to act as a hub for tenants, landlords and contractors, something he relishes. Building and maintaining those relationships allows everyone to feel confident that they're in safe hands. A keen footballer and boxer, Daniel lives in Yeovil with his two dogs. 

David James

David James

Home Move Manager

David has nearly 20 years in the property industry working with clients on UK and International transactions, in both commercial and not for profit sectors.  Also, he is an experienced renovator and landlord who enjoys getting his hands dirty. 

As Home Move Manager, David puts all his skills to good use to help support people through the difficult third stage of the house moving process - the conveyacing. Acting as a go-between for buyers, sellers and recommended solicitors, he is able to act as a conduit for all parties and keep communication channels open and flowing.

David moved from south-west London 18 months ago to get away from city life and be closer to family. Now in East Lydford, David lives with his wife, daughter and two cats (who are relishing the opportunity to catch and bring home all sorts of new and interesting stuff!) The whole family are all enjoying more walking, cycling and their new, improved relationship with the great outdoors; it feels a bit like being a kid all over again, but without the neckerchief.

Oliver Pyle-Santini

Oliver has a breadth of experience in the property industry. Starting out in commercial sales and sourcing, Oliver moved to residential sales in 2007 with a move to New York. He gained his Real Estate License, plus a vast amount of experience in a challenging market. He returned to start up his own search agency in London. Working with local and national agents in this role, Oliver established himself as a trusted and hard working property professional. This makes him a perfect fit for Orchards and we are happy to bring his experience and ‘youthful’ exuberance into the team.
