Mens Teams
- The First Team currently sit 8th in Division 2. The team are doing well in the cups, and an extneded run in the County Cup followed by Quarter Final and Semi Final matches in the Perry Street League cups mean they have at least 3 games in hand on the teams above them.
- The Reserves are 4th in Division 3 and also have 2 cup Quarter Final appearances coming up.
Youth Teams
- As I mentioned in the last update we have entered a second team into the Under 7s league sponsored by GSL Tree & Landscaping Services. The new team will be managed by current Rangers Anthony Trubridge and Stephen Holton.
- Now we've got 2 teams they need to have names to distinguish them! The new team have been named the Webbers with the other team similarly called the Weavers. Both names were chosen due to the town's rich history of making sailcloths.
- The Webbers have their first fixture on Sunday, part of a double header with the Weavers also playing at home. I'll circulate a team photo on social media of the new team after the game.
Community
- The Crewkerne U3A run a Walking Football team that have been active for around a year. We recently provided them with some bibs to use in their training sessions, and are running a feature on them in this week's programme to try and inspire more people to get involved with them.
- We also took part in the Christmas Tree Festival at St Barts Church in Crewkerne over the Christmas period.
The theme was the 12 days of Christmas and our Under 7s players got involved to draw the baubles for our football themed effort.
Fundraising and Events
- Our Christmas Bingo, held at the George Reynolds Centre, attracted around 70 people for an entertaining evening where lots of great prizes were won on the bingo and in a number of raffles. On the night we raised a fantastic £600 which is to be split between the club and our chosen charity this season — The League of Friends of Crewkerne Hospital.
